ABOUT KALYN

Hi, 

I am so glad you are here! My name is Kalyn Menzies, and I am the owner/photographer of Meraki by Kalyn. I grew up in beautiful Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, and although I moved away for a little bit, no other place has ever been home for me. 

I love photography. My parents bought me my first DSLR as a high school graduation present, and it has been my passion ever since. What I have always loved the most about photos is their ability to freeze a moment in time in a way that never fades or changes. That is why most people spend much of their time taking and looking at pictures. Photography can preserve memories in this magical way so that we can share them with others and even pass them down for generations. 

As a mom of two I am constantly taking pictures of my kiddos, but I often struggle with being present in the moment with them as I'm trying to capture the perfect picture. My job as your photographer is to allow you to be in the moment, feel all the emotions, and connect with the people around you while still having those memories to look back on.
